Q

How do you perform High Speed Cruise?

A

Technique to accelerate to High Cruise speed:
- Gentle increase in power
- around 30’’ MAP
- Postion of horizon to maintain altitude and accelerate
- anticipation of 5 kts we arrive at a setting of 28’’ MAP

Q

What do we do to slow to low cruise speed?

A
  • Reduce throttles to 15’’ MAP
  • Position just above horizon
  • Smooth reduction in speed without varying the altitude
  • When speed passes 105 kts:
    • increase power to 17’’ MAP
This is enough to maintain Low Cruis Speed

Q

What do we do to get to a Medium Cruise Speed?

A

Look for 25’’ or 21’’ MAP
depending if we are accelerating from Low Cruise or decelerating from High cruise, respectively

Maintain AI in a centered position
5 kts before reaching 120 kts medium cruise
Select throttles to 23’’ to maintain desired airspeed
