What causes cubital tunnel syndrome?

A
  1. Ulnar nerve compression at the cubital tunnel along the medial elbow
    *will cause Paresthesia/pain along the ulnar nerve distribution (worse with elbow flexion)

What will be found on the PE?

A
  1. Positive Tinel’s sign at elbow
  2. +Froments sign
    *hold paper and compensates with flexion of the thumb IP joint

What is the treatment

A
  1. Wrist and elbow immobilization (especially with sleep)
  2. NSAIDs
  3. Intraarticular steroids (chronic)
  4. surgery with ulnar nerve decompression as last resort
    *nerve will be placed at the front
