A

It is unofficial, free-flowing and flexible communication. It does not follow rules, processes, formalities or the hierarchy within a business, so many mutate as the conversation develops.

What is Formal Communication?

A

Structure and udef for offical messaging e.g. letter from a doctor. It is controlled and follows specific channels or methods, standards and rules set by the sender.
It usually follows an organisation’s hierarchy or structure, meaning that high-ranking employees use it to send various messages and instructions to their teams.
Examples of formal communication in the workplace include pay rises, pension updates etc.
