why is language a disadvantage?

A

75% of cases heard i supreme court involve interpretation of wording in an act, language and structrual issues make the law inaccesible to the ordinary person, acts are often over elaborated and lack clarity

why is complication a disadvantage?

A

many acts/ statutes are amended by later acts, necessary to read multiple statues to find one point of law, added by delegated legislation makes discovery of law difficult

why is it undemocratic a disadvantage?

A

HOL and king not elected, Mps in HOC are told how to vote and have pressure placed on them, MP rory stewart not democratic, got told which way to vote , backbench rebellions eg rwanada bill. under 18s dont get a vote yet it affects them the most, unfair

why is it being slow a disadvantage?

A

process can take many months to pass, not appropriate when change needs to happen quickly
