Q

Aspirin, ibuprofen, paracetamol direct effects on a specific cycle

A

Lipoxygenease cycle

These analgesics work by inhibiting COX1 or COX2 which in turn inhibits prostaglandin production and in turn reduce tissue sensitivity to pain

Paracetamol effects COX2 more and less COX1 (COX1 important for maintaining lining of stomach) this makes this okay for GIT patients
