A

They recieved migrants from former colonies of the British Empire such as Jamaica, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Uganda

A

A society where there is a high level of cultural and ethnic diversity among it’s citizens often resulting in a multilingual and multi faith community

A

Many of them spoke English and showed an affinity with the British culture as it is celebrated in their schools

Why was there a large number of Indian doctors migrating to the UK during the 1930s and 1940s

A

Under colonial rule, medican schools in India used the same textbooks as British teaching schools. This meant Indian doctors had the same skills as they were taught the way that medicine is practiced in the UK
