2) Misuse of gov facilities

In our country elections are conducted by an independent and powerful Election Commission (EC) and enjoys the same power that a judiciary enjoys
Who is the CEC appointed by
The Chief Election Commissioner is appointed by the president of India. The CEC isn’t answerable to the president or the gov. It’s impossible to remove the CEC
Powers of the EC
1) EC takes decisions in every aspect of conduct and control of elections from the announcements of elections to the declaration of results
2) Implements Code of Conduct and punishes any candidate who doesn’t follow it
3) During elections it can order the gov to follow certain guidelines to prevent misuse of gov policies or to transfer Gov officials
4) When on election duty gov officers work under the control of EC and not the gov
5) they can also order a report of a constituency
