A

The government was worried that the weaker sections might not have the required resources, education and contacts to contest and win elections against the others. And the resourceful might prevent them from winning. And the government would be deprived of the voice of an important section. Making our democracy less democratic.

A

1) Serious criminal cases pending against them
2) Details of assets and liabilities of the candidate and his or her family
3) Education qualifications of the candidate.
