Electronic configuration Flashcards

1
Q

How do you use groups and periods to calculate the electronic configuration of an atom

A
  1. Look at the group that the element is in, draw that number of shells around the nucleus
  2. Look at the period that the element is in, draw that number of electrons in the outer shell
  3. Fill in the rest of the shells using the shell rule
