8
Q

What are 3 advantages and disadvantages of the ATP/PC system

A

Advantages:
- Readily available PC stores
- provides energy for high intensity exercise
- No harmful bi- products produced
Disadvantages:
- PC stores in muscles are limited
Only provides energy for 10 seconds
- Low ATP yield 1PC: 1ATP

9
Q

What are 2 advantages and disadvantages of the lactic acid system

A

Advantages:
1) Provides energy for high intensity exercise
2) Higher ATP yield than ATP/PC system

Disadvantages:
1) Creates a bi product ( lactic acid)
2) Low ATP yield compared to the aerobic system
