What is a crisis?
Major problems experienced by the main character
What is the climax?
A crisis that will determine if the main character will succeed or fail
What is the resolution
Follows climax when the author ties up loose ends
What is the story plot line?
Initial incident- rising action with conflicts and crisis- climax- falling action- resolution
What are the 3 main ways an author develops a character?
The author tells you, other characters tell you, what the character does or says
What is characterization?
The characters in the story carry out actions. These actions give the character personality ex. Kind, generous, timid
What is the protagonist?
The main character in the story
What is the antagonist?
The major character opposing the hero, may be considered the villain.
What is the theme?
The message or moral of the story
What is imagery?
Mental pictures that the reader makes when reading the story
What is the point of view?
Who is telling the story
