What is absolute morality?

A

a type of morality that uses fixed rules that can never be changed and will allow no exception. E.g. You should never kill.

What is relative morality?

A

a type of morality where some flexibility is allowed. Exceptions are considered and the situation is taken into account. E.g. It is wrong to kill but there are extreme cases where it is acceptable

What are deontological ethics?

A

ethics based on duty, rules and laws. This is a type of absolute morality.

What are teleological ethics?

A

ethics based on the outcome of actions and decisions. This is a type of relative
ethics. (It might be right to kill one person if the outcome is that hundreds of people are saved in the process)
