Stretching
Helps the body be ready for physical activities and helps reduce muscle soreness after exercising. Helps to improve posture balance and coordination.
Dynamic
Typically performed before you workout to warm up your body. Involves active movements that constrict and expand your muscles and joints to a full range of motion.
Dynamic examples
Headrolls, arm circles, arms crisscross, helicopter, knee chest, pull quad, hamstring, lunge walk, side twist and bends.
Static
Requires you to move a muscle as far as it can go without feeling any pain then hold that position for 22 45 seconds.
Static examples
Right and left deep lunge, butterfly right and left knee-tuck, shoulder stretch, bicep stretch, chest stretch, leg pull right and left.
