what are risk factors
a factor that increases risk or susceptibility
what causes coronary heart disease
caused by a fatty plaque building up in the arteries that supply blood to the heart.
- this narrows the arteries and increases the pressure.
- bits of the fatty plaque can break off and block arteries.
what are the effects (or symptoms) of coronary heart disease
it can result in cardiac arrest or angina
- cardiac arrest - when the heart suddenly stops beating
- Angina - chest pain or discomfort casued by the reduced blood supply to the heart

type 1 - where bodies immune system attacks insulin producing cells
type 2 - where the bodies cells become insulin resistant.
- both ending in blood glucose levels being dangerously high for too long.
what are the effects (or symptoms) of diabetes
- reduced blood flow to limbs
- neurological damage - conditions that disrupt the functioning of the brain, spinal cord and nerves, leading to weakness, paralysis and cognitive impairments.
