Xenolith
occasional pieces from below reach surface
Yardangs
elongate ridges formed in part due to aeolian abrasion or bedrock. Range in size from a few m’s to 100’s of m’s. Parallel to wind direction, blunt upwind and tailored downwind. Most common in easily-erodible rocks
Playa
desert lakes that have no outlet streams. Internal drainage collects water from flash floods. Dissolved solids crystallize out as water evaporates
