Describe what to do if the Engine or APU Fire switch cannot be pulled in the event of a fire or emergency evacuation.

Push the fire override switch located beneath the fire switch.

The system will automatically test the detection system when power is initially applied. The system can be tested manually also.

What are the cockpit indications of a failure of an Engine Fire Detection System?

EICAS will display SYS FAIL. This can be reset allowing for single system monitoring.

Why is it important to push the System Fail Reset switch after a FAIL P-RESET light illuminates?

Resets the monitor for the other systems.
