Severe renal dysfunction, Acute or chronic metabolic acidosis. Lactic Acidosis. N&V, take with food, Titrate dose/XR formula may reduce GI side effects, GI effects go away eventually, ensure hydration and renal dysfunction guidelines
Actos, Selective PPARgamma agonist which improves target cell response to insulin. 15-45 mg once daily. BBW is Congestive Heart Failure, CI’d in NYHA Class 3/4 Heart Failure. Peirpheral edema, worsening HF, weight gains, takes weeks to work.

Revatio, Viagara. Cialis, Adcirca. Inhibits PDE-5 causing increased levels of cGMP.
ED: 25-100 mg prn 1 hour prior. Pulmonary HTN: 5mg-20mg once daily. Tablet, Suspension reconstituted and IV. ED: 2.5-5 mg once daily or 10-20 mg once daily prn 30 minutes prior. BPH: 5 mg once daily. Headache, flushing, dizziness, priapism.

Oseltamivir inhibits flu virus Neuraminidase. 200-800 mg 3-5 times daily, capsule, tablet, solution(IV), suspension, Cream, Ointment.
Flu prophylaxis: 75 mg once daily, Flu treatment: 75 mg BID, comes as capsule and suspension. 1000-2000 mg q8-24 hours.
Hypersensitivity. N/V, Headache, Give Oseltamivir within 48 hrs of flu symptoms. Can crystalize in kidney and cause AKI, Malaise.

1-2 inhalations q4-6h prn(comes in 90 mcg, .63, 1.25,.5%) and oral syrup(2mg/5mL) and tablet.
2 inhalations BID 80 or 160 mcg/actuation. 1 inhalation BID for diskus, 2 inhalations BID for HFA. 2 inhalations QID max 12 per day. Ipratropium 20 mcg and albuterol 100 mcg.
9 mg qam for 8 weeks, 1-2 intranasal sprays, inhaled 360 mcg BID up to 720 mcg BID. Suspension, inhalation, cream, lotion, ointment 2 sprays in each nostril daily, 88 mcg BID inhaled.

CI’d in primary asthma treatment or hypersensitivity to milk proteins, watch for oral thrush, cough, URTI, diarrhea, decrease GI with food. Use as rescue inhaler, same side effects and watch for milk proteins.
BBW of asthma related death, never use as primary asthma treatment, similar side effects to budesonide. Same BBW, milk proteins, same side effects.
Avodart. Propecia, Proscar. Selectively inhibits 5α-reductase, resulting in inhibition of the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone and markedly suppressed serum dihydrotestosterone levels. CI’d in pregnant or women of child bearing age. Decreased libido and pregnancy category X. Gynecomastia and impotence in Dutasteride, also CI’d in children and hypersensitive patients.
Capsule- 0.5 mg once daily. Tablet 1,5 mg- 5 mg once daily.
