For example, “La population s’accroît rapidement.” = “The population grows rapidly.” Finally, the verb can also be translated by “augmenter” or “(se) développer” in particular if we are talking about business, such as “Notre entreprise s’est développée rapidement cette année.” = “Notre entreprise a connu une expansion rapide cette année.” All of these verbs are common (“croître”) or very common (“augmenter”, “se développer”, “pousser”, “grandir”).
