What are carbohydrates?
Carbohydrates are the body’s main source of energy.
What are proteins used for?
Proteins help with growth and repair.
What are fats?
Fats store energy and insulates the body
What do vitamins do?
Vitamins help with growth and metabolism.
What do minerals do?
Minerals support body functions like bone health.
Why is water important?
Water transports nutrients and controls body temperature.
What is malnutrition?
Not getting the right amount of nutrients.
What is overnutrition?
Getting too many nutrients (can lead to obesity).
What is undernutrition?
Not enough nutrients (can cause weakness or illness).
What is the function of carbohydrates?

What is the difference between water-soluble and fat-soluble vitamins?
Water-soluble (e.g. C, B) are not stored in the body. Fat-soluble (e.g. A, D, E, K) are stored.

Calcium: for bones; Iron: for making red blood cells.
What are signs of undernutrition?
Tiredness, weight loss, slow growth.
What is overnutrition?
Having too much food or nutrients — can lead to obesity.
