Define globalisation
The growing connection between countries. People in one country are connected to those in another, in many different ways
What are TNCs?
They are companies that operate in two or more countries. E.g. Nike, BT, McDonald, Disney, Apple
Why have TNCs operated in other countries and opened factories there?
Wages in poor countries are often lower so TNCs save money and make more profit
Opening factories in different countries can mean more customers to sell their products to
Some developing countries don’t have strict health and safety standards so TNCs can save money by working people harder
Why have TNCs invested in Asia? (Name Human Factors)
Large population to be workers
Good education system so people are educated
Government supporters investment from other countries
Speak English
Good relationships with other countries to trade them
Why have TNCs invested in Asia? (Name Physical Factors)
Good location near other countries for trade
Close to coast-easy to transport goods via ships
Does not suffer from natural hazard
