e.g to win a race/competition

e.g. beat best time or have a good start

Relates to development of specific technique or tactics
e.g. tighter tumble turn with greater leg drive off wall in order to improve performance

Target must be specific to performer, sport and skill
What does a measurable goal mean?
Must be able to be measured and compared
What does an achievable goal mean?
Target must be challenging yet reachable

Agreed goals should be recorded and monitored
What does a time bound goal mean?
Set for a particular time to be completed
