  • Xanthine oxidase inhibitor
  • MOA: DEC purine metabolism=DEC uric acid
  • cheaper than Febuxostat
  • ADV prolong 1/2 life of immunosuppressants (Azathioprine & 6-Mercaptopurine)=bone marrow depression
  • ADV acute gout flare
  • used for patients with low/intermediate risk of TSL

Colchicine

A
  • anti-inflammatory for gout
  • MOA: mitotic spindle poison=inhibits cell division via binding to B-tubulin, interfering with microtubules=interferes with assembly of inflammation complex
  • if ALLERGY=intracellular injection with Depo-medrol (corticosteroid suspension)
