RNAV Approach Procedure

A
  1. L - Load GPS approach
  2. D - Direct to IAWP
    1. If being radar vectored to FAF, select FAF as the active waypoint and enter the FAC as the intercept course. Then comply with Radar Vector to Final Approach Course until “Cleared for the Approach”
  3. D -Display - PFD source set toFMS
  4. H - Hold - If approach requires Hold (HILO), ensure the waypoint appears in the legs page with /H
  5. A - Approach Mode - Verify “APR” mode at 2 NM from MAWP on PFD
  6. Descend to appropriate altitude per TAA/ATC instructions (cleared for approach and within 30 NM of IAF
  7. Within 5 NM of IAWP, Slow 150 KIAS
  8. Fly published procedure to establish a/c inbound to the FAWP
  9. Comply with courses and altitudes
  10. Within 5 NM of FAWP transition BAC
  11. At 3 NM from FAWAP observe “HSI SCALES TO CHANGE” message
  12. At 2 NM from FAWP observe transition to APR mode
    1. If FMS fails to transition to APR MODE notify instructor and comply with Loss of GPS integrity prior to FAWP procedures
  13. At the FAWP execute 6 Ts
    1. ​Time - As required for backup
    2. Turn - Continue tracking FMS to MAWP
    3. Time - Not required
    4. Transition - Set 15% torque, trim for 120 KIAS descent to segment altitude or MDA as req
      1. Do not exceed 1000 FPM
    5. ​​​Twist - Track course from FAC to MAWP
      1. On some approaches, a course change may be required passing the FAWP
      2. Named waypoints on the published instrument approach between the FAWP and MAWP that can be defined using the ATD from the MAWP or other charted methods may not appear on the NAV/TSD display on the LEGS page.
    6. Talk - As required
