Q

Describe the method of the test of group two metals with water

A
  1. Fill a test tube half full with water
  2. Drop a piece of calcium (testing element) into the water
  3. Hold an empty test-tube over the first test tube, as shown in order to collect any gas that is produced
  4. After one minute, test the gas in the top tube with lighted splint
  5. Add five drops of Universal Indicator to the lower tube
  6. Repeat the above, with each testing element, using fresh, clean test tubes
  7. Record results in a table
