What was the economic status before and after the revolution?

A

BEFORE: wealthiest colony at the time as it produced 40% of the world’s sugar and 50% of the world’s coffee

AFTER: many plantations were destroyed after the revolution and the land was divided into parcels, each parcel was owned by a “free slave”; all of the outcomes led to a decrease in export goods, while the population largely depended on self-sufficient agriculture
