Denial
Unconscious failure to acknowledge and event, thought, or feeling that is too painful for conscious awareness

What is somatization disorder?

What is conversion disorder?
transferring a mental conflict into a physical symptom for which there is no organic cause

has anticholinergic effects
can be lethal in overdose
What are anticholinergic effects?
- dry mouth
- blurred vision
- constipation
- urinary retention

- Hypertensive Crisis
- Canot have foods with high thymine levels
What is hypertensive crisis?
- severe hypertension
- severe HA
- chest pain
- fever
- sweating
- nausea and vomiting
SSRIS
Fluoxetine (Prozac), Paroxetine (Paxil), Sertraline (Zoloft), Citralopram (Celexa)
- drowsiness
- dizziness, light-headedness
- HA
- insomnia
- depressed appetitie
Escitalopram (Lexapro)
Vilazodone (Vibrryd)
SSRIs
- serotonin syndrome
- sexual dysfunction
- weight gain
What are the signs of serotonin syndrome?
- rapid onset of altered mental states
- agitation
- involuntary twitching of a muscle
- hyperreflexia
- fever
- shivering, diaphoresis
- ataxia
- diarrhea
