Semimembranosus (O; I; A)
O: Ischial tuberosity
I: Posteromedial surface of medial tibial condyle.
A: Flexion of the knee; Extension and internal rotation of the hip; Internal rotation of the flexed knee and posterior pelvic tilt.
Biceps Femoris (O; I; A)
O: Ischial tuberosity (long head); lower half linea aspera (short head)
I: Lateral condyle of tibia, head of fibula.
A: Flexion of the knee; Extension and internal rotation of the hip; Internal rotation of flexed knee and posterior pelvic rotation.
Gluteus Maximus (O; I; A)
O: Posterior crest of ilium, posterior surface of sacrum and coccyx near ilium, fascia of lumbar area.
I: Gluteal tuberosity on lateral surface of greater trochanter.
A: Extension and External rotation of hip; Posterior pelvic rotation.
Gluteus Medius (O; I; A)
O: Lateral surface of ilium just below crest.
I: Posterior and middle of greater trochanter of femur.
A: Abduction of hip; Internal fibres do internal rotation and hip flexion and anterior pelvic rotation; External fibres do external rotation and hip extension and posterior pelvic rotation.
Gluteus Minimus (O; I; A)
O: Lateral surface of ilium just below O of glute medius.
I: Anterior of greater trochanter of femur.
A: Abduction and flexion of hip; Internal rotation as femur abducts and anterior pelvic rotation.
Tensor Fasciae Latae (O; I; A)
O: Anterior iliac crest and surface of ilium below.
I: One fourth of way down thigh to iliotibial tract.
A: Abduction and flexion; Anterior pelvic rotation.
Six Deep Lateral Rotator Muscles (O; I; A)
O: Anterior sacrum; Posterior portions of ischium; obturator foramen.
I: Superior and posterior of greater trochanter.
A: External rotation of hip.
