How do you answer a features question? (4 mark)
- 1st point, little bit of evidence to support it
- 2nd point, little bit of evidence to support it.
How do you answer the four mark Explain question? (4 marks)
1 PEEL paragraph.
- Point
- Evidence and explanation, similar to English, R.E. and Geography.
- Link the ending back to the question.
How do you answer Question 4, the question with two interpretations? (8 marks)
How far do you agree with Interpretation 1 about ______? (8 marks)
- Read the interpretations, and jot down what side they are on.
- Plan, this is 1/5 of your grade.
- Introduction with which interpretation you agree with and why.
- First paragraph. Unfortunately, you need a point, and 3 evidences matched with an explanation, and a link. The evidence is from the interpretation. This will be on why you could agree with Interpretation 1.
- Second paragraph like the first. This will be on why you could agree with Interpretation 2. Evidence from Int. 2
- Conclusion, reiterate why you agree with either interpretation.
Describe two longterm features for the cause of WWI. (4) (alliances and nationalism)
- Alliances; countries teamed up with one another for protection, a spark would send all into war, as what happened.
- Nationalism; many countries thought they were the best, and could win any war, like Germany tried to.
Can also write on militarism or imperialism.
Describe two features of the Schlieffen Plan’s failure. (4) (Belgium and Russia)
- Belgium resisting; meaning Germany had to struggle to get past into France, and lose time.
- Russian mobilisation; much quicker than expected, and Germany then were fighting on 2 fronts.
Also British involvement.
Describe two features of the Treaty of Versailles. (4) (land and economy)
- Germany punished in finaces; 132 billion marks to Allies
- Land; Rhineland given to France, and losing Germans.
Describe two features of the Nazi’s appeal to Germans. (4) (nationalism and racism)
- Racism; blame the Jews.
- Nationalism; all German speakers will be united.
Also could be socialism, fascism and the rich.
Explain one method Adolf Hitler used to keep control. (4) (terror)
P- terror
E- the SS is used to arrest any opponents and naysayers of Hitler.
E- German people are now extremely loyal to the Nazi Party, knowing they will disappear or go to concentration camps for denying them.
L- This loyalty is useful for Hitler keeping control.
Also schools, propaganda and the economy.
