immune memory Flashcards
(8 cards)
T cell memory theory
precursor model
asymmetric fate model
decreasing potential model
signal strength model
What receptors do memory cell precursors have?
IL-7R
What receptors do effector cell precursors have?
KDRG1
Central TM
expresses: CD62L, CCR7
Are in: lymphoid tissues and blood
functional properties: proliferative potential, needs IL-2
Effector TM
expresses: CCR5
Are in: non-lymphoid tissues and blood
- lose tissue specificity after initial infection
functional properties: little proliferative potential, doesn’t need IL-2, high effector function
Tissue-resident TM
expresses: CD69
Are in: tissues of previous infection
functional properties: proliferative potential, high effector function NO RECIRCULATION!
Requirements of naïve t cells
MHC self molecules
IL-7
Requirements of memory t cells
no MHC self
IL-15 (needed for circulation)
IL-7
