What is a SHZ?
An area that is close to critical a/c electrical components
If a SHZ spill occurs:
- Take measures to stop any flow of water
- Report the spill to the commander
- Commander to report spill in the AML (eLog)
What are the 3 types of turbulence?
Light, moderate, severe
Light turbulence description:
Slight changes in altitude/attitude
Signs of light turbulence:
- Liquids shaking but not spilling
- Carts can be manoeuvred with little difficulty
CC actions during light turbulence:
- Ensure PAX seatbelt fastened
- Close any overhead lockers or stowages
- Stop serving hot drinks and use of the beverage pots
What are some turbulence preventative measures?
- Never leave trolleys unattended
- Minimise service equipment left on galley surfaces
What is the post turbulence cabin survey and communications?

What must CC do following a go-around or rejected TO?
- Remain seated unless informed otherwise
- Limit use of inter phone to safety-related calls and go-around PA

What do you check for in the toilet during GSC?
- There are no messages or suspicious articles
- Smoke detectors are not blocked
- Wast bin flaps are fully closed
