What is an acute injury
A sudden injury associated with a traumatic event
What is a chronic injury
A slowly developed injury associated with overuse
What is a fracture
-Partial or complete break in the bone
-In simple (closed) fractures, skin remains unbroken
-In compound (open) fractures, bone breaks through the skin
What is a dislocation
Occurs from a direct or indirect force where the joint is pushed past its extreme range of motion
What is a concussion
A traumatic brain injury resulting in a disturbance of brain function
What is a stress fracture
A tiny crack in the surface of a bone caused by overuse
What is shin splints
Inflammation of bone to tendon connection
