Q

Decomposition

A

Buried beneath younger sediments to form carbonaceous rocks eg, coal,m ignite, oil and natural gas Which acts as a carbon sink for millions of years (slow carbon cycle)

Q

Weathering

A

Carbon-rich sedimentary rocks near the surface exposed to erosion and tectonic movement face chemical weathering

Carbonation - precipitation charged with co2 from the atmosphere forming a weak acid. The acid attacks carbonate minerals in rocks, which releases co2 to the atmosphere and rivers and oceans ( dissolved form of co2) ( slow)
