  • majors are written as M2, M3
  • minors are written as m2, m3
  • 1sts, 4ths, 5ths, and 8ths are called perfect intervals
  • perfect intervals are written as P4, P5, P8

  • when you take an interval and raise the lower tone and octave or lower the high tone an octave
  • A to C (m3rd) is inverted to C to A (P4th)
  • note when trying to find the intervals it is easiest to count the amount of half steps
