Q

Describe the most innovative thing you’ve done and why you thought it was innovative.

A

To create a merchandising guideline/ deck (while they have a general merchandising guide book, it was usually stashed in the back behind the cashwrap, never used. and they were general rules like, signage on the left, 2 sizes of each, folding procedures etc).
I made a seasonal merchandising deck for the store team so that they are constantly met with new information and it will allow them to team with visual when I do my rotation in their stores. that helped them be aware of the shipment, be proactive in deliveries, and work towards autonomy.

Q

Tell me about a time when you had a challenging problem or situation that usual approach wouldn’t address.

A

For the local shop at caesars, it was a strategy to process out older products (its kinda like an outlet store for souveniers) which actually did really well since people were still in search of donnie and marie products.
Essentially because this was a department initiative, there was very little budget. required sourcing and ordering quick and cheap fixtures to fulfill this short term store. and the labor to process these fixtures were time consuming.
I proposed that we use existing fixtures that were used for an event that was stashed in our warehouse. This fixture set was used once a year during WSOP and stored for the rest of the year.
This saved time and budget for us to allocate this energy into setting up the actual store.
