  • New Hampshire usually secures nomination but have been won by candidates who have lost in the past 3 elections after Clinton lost it to sanders in 2016
  • 2020 30 democ candidates in debate split over 2 nights
  • most recent elections have not been won by candidate who wins most primaries, only predict winner sometimes, Obama, Romney, McCain
  • primaries winner isn’t binding, party can elect candidate who has not won primary, Obama and Kamala 2024
