risalah (prophethood)
Allah sent prophets to guide people, each by His permission (‘it was not for a messenger to come except by the permission of Allah’)
They were humans chosen to deliver His message.
25 are named in the Qur’an, some shared with Judaism and Christianity.
Over time, messages were changed or lost (e.g. Trinity).
So, Allah sent Muhammad with the final revelation, the Qur’an, making him the Seal of the Prophets.
The Qur’an is unchangeable and the ultimate word of God.
All prophets are important as they taught Tawhid — belief in one God.

Adam – the first human and prophet, known as the father of humanity.
He taught Tawhid to his children and was the first khalifah (steward) on Earth.
He built the first Ka’ba in Makkah.

Ibrahim was a Hanif — he believed in one God despite being from a polytheistic family.
He was willing to sacrifice his son Ismail as a test of faith, resisting the devil.
Muslims remember this during Hajj and Eid-ul-Adha.
ibrahim significance
Ibrahim had two sons who became ancestors of major prophets:
Ismail (through Hagar in Mecca) — ancestor of Prophet Muhammad.
Ishaq — ancestor of Moses and Jesus.
He was the greatest prophet before Isa, had deep knowledge of Tawhid, and showed complete submission to Allah — a model of devotion for all Muslims.
isa who was he
Maryam was Isa’s mother, both often mentioned in the Qur’an.
He was born virgin-born and given the Injil (Gospels).
Isa performed miracles by Allah’s will.
He did not die on the cross but was taken to heaven, as Allah would not let evil prevail over His prophet.

He set the ideal example for Muslims (the Sunnah, recorded in hadith).
During the Night Journey, Muslims were commanded to pray five times daily.
belief about angels (malaikah)
Malaikah (angels) are Allah’s first creations, made of light, immortal, and heavenly.
Belief in them is one of the six articles of faith — rejecting them means going far astray.
They serve Allah, deliver His messages to prophets, with Jibril as the chief messenger
They have little or no free will, never sin, and can enter Allah’s presence.
