KA6 U2 Flashcards
(15 cards)
What do coronary arteries supply the heart muscle with.
Supply it with blood which contains CO2 and Glucose. This is for respiration.
What is Heart rate
Number of heart beats in one minute
Stroke volume
Volume of blood pumped into each ventricle within a minute
What do the left and right ventricle do
Supply same volume of blood through aorta and pulmonary artery.
How do we find CO
HR X SV
Cardiac cycle refers to what?
The pattern of contraction and relaxation of the heart muscle after one complete heartbeat
Contraction of the heart muscle is known as?
Systole
What about relaxation of the heart muscle?
Diastole
During Diastole/relaxation of the heart, what happens?
Blood flows into the ventricle to the atria
In diastole, tye higher the pressure in the arteries does what?
Closes SL valves
Rulings
Atria and ventricle are relaxed
AV valves opened
SL valves closed
Rulling 2 Atrial systole
Atria contract, ventricles relaxed
AV valves opened
SL valves closed
Atrial systole
Remaining blood in atria moves through atrio-venticular valves to ventricles
Ventricular systole
Closes AV valves and pumps blood out through SL valves into aorta and pulmonary artery .
Rulling 3
Atria relaxes, ventricles contract
AV valves closed
SL opened
