What is a gene?
The sequence of SNA on the template strand that encodes for the pre-mRNA.
Where is the Untranslated Region (UTR) located?
The region between the promoter (TATA box) and the start codon on the mRNA. May be useful to prevent the deflation of the mRNA (poly A tail)
What is RNA polymerase?
the main enzyme for making a polymer of RNA. Is able to recognize where the info for a gene is by binding to DNA duplex starting from the promoter and ends and the sequence terminator
What is the release factor?
it adds a water molecule to the end of the polypeptide which breaks the bond to the tRNA. Stop codon protein comes in, stop codon hydrolyzes bond between peptide and tRNA in P site, breaking the bond between tRNA and the amino acid. tRNA dissociates.
