Lab 20 & 21 Flashcards
(7 cards)
Physio module goals
Collect pulse data before/during/after exercise and compare across class using stats, compare amplitudes for waves and segments of an ECG across subjects, grip force fatigue amplitude and time intervals of emg
What must be found in the literature for paper
+/- controls, hypothesis, predictions, physiological mechanism
Question
statement posed to elicit an answer or specific information
Scientific question
Can be answered experimentally or theoretically based on scientific principles and/or prior experimentation
Hypothesis
Proposed answer to a scientific question based on what is known, observations, preliminary data, and logic. Based on literature, limited in scope, includes general variable category and parameter, can be tested in many different ways and serves as starting point
Prediction
Statement of expectation from an experimental design used to test the hypothesis, includes expectations for all specific variables tested and parameters measured and provides detailed information.
Bar Graph
compare QUALITATIVE data or summary data across categories, variables, subjects
