Q

amino acids entry into energy pathways

A

1- The remaining amino-acid can enter energy pathways in a variety of places.
2- Some deaminated amino acids can be converted to pyruvate
3- Others are converted to acetyl-CoA
4- While others are converted to CAC substrates, such as oxaloacetate or malate.
5- can be convereted to glucose = gluconeogensis

Q

metabolic mill

A

= aerobic metabolism

  • slow moderate intesntiy
  • protein: deaminated amino acids can form pyrvate, or Acetyl CoA or dirctly enter the CAC - converted to glucose
