▪ Place wider side toward occlusal
▪ Toffelmeyer retainer – open slots always toward gingiva, pointing out mouth
▪ Top of band 1-2 mm above prep (overbulking)
▪ Wedge placement
● Allows good gingival adaptation
● Separates teeth slightly – compensate for matrix
thickness

▪ Start w/ smallest condenser, pack into corners, firm pressure, overbulk, burnish, remove gross
excess, remove matrix, trim/shape proximal first, occlusal anatomy, burnish, polish 2nd
appt.
