1
Q

what are T cells?

Q

how does Thymic gene rearrangement work?

A
  • Immature T cells rearrange the ‘variable’ parts of their TCR genes in the thymus
  • rearrangement process is essentially random
  • individual T cells are
unique in terms of their TCR, creates diversity

Q

what are memory T cells?

A
  • from T cell activation
  • reside in body for long periods of time
  • become effector cells quicker than naive cells
