A
  • Removing sprayed coatings
  • Removal or other work that may disturb pipe lagging
  • Any work involves loose fill insulation
  • Work on asbestos millboard
  • Work on asbestos insulation board where risk assessment indicates it will not be a short duration

What are the requirements for removing asbestos?

A
  • All licensable work must be notified to the appropriate enforcing authority using the ASB5 form at least 14 days before works commence
  • Comply with Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012

How did you specify to remove the asbestos?

A
  • Removal must be undertaken as per UKAS regulations and by a UKAS accredited removal contractor only
  • Area of works should be fully enclosed to avoid spread of fibres
  • All asbestos to be double bagged and disposed of appropriately
  • Asbestos works to be carried out before main contract works – air testing and reoccupation certificates to be issued on completion
