A

What is a pro rata salary?

A

pro rata means employees are paid for the hours they work, in proportion to a full-time salary. For example, if you work part-time for 21 hours a week, and full-time is 35 hours a week:
(21 ℎ𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑠)/(35 ℎ𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑠) × 100=60%

What is the Employment Rights Act 1996?
large piece of legislation which sets out the basic rights of employees in the UK.

What rights does the Employment Rights Act 1996 cover?
- the right to be told key employment terms - the need for employers to give notice and a reason for dismissal, and protection for employees against unfair dismissal - the right to statutory redundancy payments - the right to request flexible working - the right to receive an itemised payslip, so that employees understand how their pay is calculated.
