Limitations Flashcards
(69 cards)
Do reversers affect your crosswind limits?
Only when asymmetric reverse thrust is used.
Reduce crosswind limits by 5 kts on WET or CONTAMINATED runways.
XWind limits for takeoff
Dry or Wet runways - 20kts
Contaminated - 10kts
Refer to the tables in FCOM otherwise
XWind limits for landing
Dry or Wet - 38kts
Contaminated - 15kts
Refer to tables when XWind exceeds above values
Max runway slope
+/- 2%
Max takeoff and landing tailwind
15 kts
Max operating alt
43,100 ft pressure alt
Max takeoff and landing altitude
8,400 ft pressure alt
Flight manoeuvring load acceleration limits
Flaps up = +2.5g to -1.0g
Flaps down = +2.0g to 0.0g
With flaps 25 & 30, positive limits vary linearly from +2.0g at Max landing weight to +1.5G at max takeoff weight
Do not operate flaps above which alt?
20,000 ft
Max landing gear operating ad extended speeds
270kts or M0.82
Max speed
-ER: M0.89 transitioning to 350kts at FL290
-300: M0.89 transitioning to 330kts at FL310

Min number of cabin crew
Must not be less than the number of main aircraft exits
Conidtions for mini suites with doors
When pax are carried, 1 cabin crew is required in each zone + the normal number of cabin crew.
What is the max XWind for takeoff and landing?
38 kts including gusts
Severe turbulent air penetration speed
- 270 kts below 25,000ft
- 280 kts or M0.82 whichever is lower at 25,000 ft and above
- min 15kts above MMS when airspeed is below M0.82
HF radios, operating limits?
Do not operate during refueling operations
WX radar ops
Avoid WX radar ops in a hangar
- WX radar test mode OK
Door operation (entry & cargo)
- don’t open or close the doors when winds are more than 40 kts
- close the doors when wind gusts are more than 65 kts
Max speed of the tyres
Takeoff = 204 kts
Landing = 226 kts
Max taxi weight -300
263.9 T
