What is a team?
A group of people that work together
What are 3 types of teams?
- Functional
- Cross-functional
- Self-directed
Functional team
Includes only people from the same department or those who have the same skills or expertise
Cross functional team
Includes people from different departments or people who have different skills, background or area of expertise
Self directed team
Are distinguished by the absence of a manager
- leadership emerges from within the team, which is then given the authority to make decisions
