How does the abdomen contribute to Lx stability?
TA etc via TLF
How does the abdomen contribute to pelvic stability?
?
What can cause pubic symphysis pain?
- pulling of the adductors
- pulling of the abdominals
????
What structures support the pubic symphysis?
Fibrocartilaginous joint b/w the two pubic bodies.
Supported by strong superior & inferior arcuate ligaments & thinner post. Ligament
Majority of support comes from rectus abdominus and adductor muscles.
Thick fibrocartilaginous disc between two layers of hyaline cartilage.

What is the articular supply to the hip joint?
Ligamentum Teres
Intra-articular, extra synovial, accessory joint structure
Runs between the fovea and the edges of the acetabular notch and the intervening acetabular labrum
Taut in adduction and slight flexion but contributes little to joint stability
Main role appears to be passage of blood vessels to the femoral head
