3 advantages of mallows hierarchy
allows a manager to determine which level of the hierarchy each employee is loactated at, allowing a manager to implement motivational strategies best suited that are tailored directly to address an employees specific needs.
motivation can occur quickly when employees progress through the low order needs of the hierarchy
employees that meet self actualisation can improve the business through creativity and innovation
3 disadvantages of maslows hierarchy
it can be highly time consuming fora manager to determine which level of the hierarchy and employees is located at and then tailor a strategy to them.
it is difficult to measure success as each employee may value each need differently. for example, and employee who is satisfied by annual celebrations may differ from an employee who’s social needs can only be satisfied with regular team work and interactions.
esteem needs may be costly as to best acknowledge an employee this may involve financial rewards.
