SC Mandate
A
- Mandate is determined by the SC Resolution and is the basic document for the Msns.
- Mandates differs according to Sit, Nature of conflict and Agreement betn conflicting parties.

- Components of the Msn and their responsibilities.
- Agreements including ceasefire.
- Maintenance of tps during demobilization.
- Parties in war/conflict and DDR procedure.

- Date and Procedure of repatriation of tps.

Status of Force Agreement (SOFA) or Status of Msn Agreement (SOMA)
A
- A bilateral agreement that defines relation between a host country and UN PKO.
- The SOMA or SOFA provides the legal basis for the presence and op of the peacekeeping force in the host country.
- Msn-specific, it details the privileges and immunities of the op and its personnel and the responsibilities and obligations of the host nation. It also provides for dispute resolution.

- Establishes Terms and Conditions – Administrative, Financial and Logistics
- Includes no and category of personnel, arms, eqpt, duration, types of reimbursement (Wet or Dry lease).

- Personnel cannot accept or seek authority from any authority other than UN
