• Mandates differs according to Sit, Nature of conflict and Agreement betn conflicting parties.

3. Maintenance of tps during demobilization.

Question 3

Status of Force Agreement (SOFA) or Status of Msn Agreement (SOMA)

• A bilateral agreement that defines relation between a host country and UN PKO.
• The SOMA or SOFA provides the legal basis for the presence and op of the peacekeeping force in the host country.
• Msn-specific, it details the privileges and immunities of the op and its personnel and the responsibilities and obligations of the host nation. It also provides for dispute resolution.
