  • speed 170
  • landing gear down if more drag desired
  • flaps on schedule
  • speedbrakes full
  • set target altitude (typically FAF, but not lower than 1000’ HAT), pull OP DES
  • maintain Vmax -10 knots in SEL SPD
  • if A/P and FDs off, select managed speed and adjust pitch manually to maintain desired airspeed

  • once normal conditions, thrust as req
  • autothrust on

PM:

  • confirm a/s above alpha prot and increasing
  • confirm a/s above VLS before config changes
  • confirm positive climb before gear up

  • maintain gear/flap config until terrain separation assure
  • monitor radalt
  • when terrain clearance assured, CL thrust and A/P on as desired
  • check FMS phase (will be in go-around if flaps 1 or greater)

PM

  • verify max thrust
  • verify all required actions completed, call out ommissions
  • monitor VSI and altitude
  • call out trend toward terrain contact
  • call out “alpha floor” if required

Windshear escape maneuver

A

PF:

  • TOGA
  • AP off
  • Follow SRS, use full back stick if necessary
  • No SRS: 17.5 deg nose up
  • Monitor radalt/VSI
  • Do not change configuration until clear
  • Do not try to regain airspeed until clear

PM:

  • Assure TOGA
  • Verify actions, call omissions
  • monitor / call out IVSI, radalt, altimeter
  • monitor VSI / altitude
  • call out trend toward terrain, descending flight path, airspeed changes
